Sassy, funny, cute, and some heartwarming posts that made us smile.

Not all heroes wear capes

There’s nothing more frustrating than signing up for a free subscription but forgetting to cancel it in time, and getting charged anyway. But if you’re the forgetful type, you can almost guarantee that Twitter has your back.

Not all heroes wear capes, and that includes Olly Smith over here. Who needs a calendar when you have the internet? Thanks Olly, because this just reminded us to cancel our subscription, too.

The key to understanding introverts

It should come as no surprise that introverts have been having an easier time these past few months compared to their more social counterparts. Our new socially distanced world is hard for some, but introverts don’t mind spending some time alone. That’s sorta their thing, after all. But it should be noted that not all introverts just want to be left to their own devices.

Some of them totally want attention and love. The doors to their hearts are unlocked, but you just need to put in a little bit of extra effort to open them.

The perks of married life

Marriage is, for a lot of people, the ultimate goal. You can date around and have some fun while you’re younger, but most people think that you should be looking for someone that you can really settle down with. You don’t have to think that same way, as everyone has a valid future planned out for themselves, but hear us out on this one.

You don’t have to think that same way, as everyone has a valid future planned out for themselves, but hear us out on this one.

In a way, that’s a great metaphor for life. There is so much diversity in life that it’s best to sample all of it. This is perfectly exemplified by these three… we guess.

The handwriting of doctors

We don’t want to speak ill of doctors. Without them, we firmly believe that our society wouldn’t be functioning like it is today. Modern medicine is a true blessing, and we thank all of those who practice it. But we have to offer one small criticism… the handwriting. Have you ever seen the handwriting of doctors before? We’ve gone to the office, gotten checked, and walked out with a written recommendation.

When we checked it, we realized that we had no idea what it said! They may be super smart, but they could work on their penmanship.

You mess with one, you mess with all

Being a bad guy doesn’t mean you’re limited to doing only bad and evil things. It’s ironic, but you don’t always have to be a bad guy, even when you are one. Okay, we believe you get the drift.

This gang surely has a heart of gold for looking out for their tutor. Firstly, it is so wrong to judge people for their likings and who they choose to love. Secondly, it is so wrong messing with the gang’s guy, you got what you asked for. This story is heartwarming.

Hide until your problems go away

Being in college is tough. You need to balance a huge amount of assignments with a social life and a work life, all while trying to maintain your mental health. If we’re being honest, keeping up with all four of those things is just impossible. You need to sacrifice at least one to be successful at the other three.

And sometimes it’s the assignments that need to be put on the backburner. If your class is in three minutes and you’re only on page 2 of that 10 page paper, it’s best to just hide inside your Metapod costume.

Aging like milk

Looking back at all of the optimism at the very beginning of 2020 is so annoying. We understand that no one knew what the year was going to hold, but just thinking that there were people that were excited for the year makes us mad on principle. We wish that we could go back in time, if only to warn people about what was going to happen so that they wouldn’t make those cheery tweets.

Forget about, you know, actually stopping the pandemic or anything. That sounds way too complicated. But those tweets need to be stopped.

What are the odds of that?

We don’t really believe in fate. We don’t think that the events in life are predetermined… we believe that you have power over what occurs in your life. But still, stuff like this really makes us question whether or not there’s some grand plan for all of us out there.

This woman went to adopt an elderly dog from the shelter and then later discovered that the dog was the very same pup that went missing when she was a kid. Geez, this sounds like the plot of a movie that would make us sob. Yes, we are sobbing anyway.

The meeting of the dads

Our parents might annoy us at times (especially back when we were teenagers), but we can’t deny that they are absolutely adorable once you get down to it. The love that parents have for their children is something that is so heartwarming that it almost makes us want to cry. But you know what else makes us want to cry? Their love for their hobbies.

Like how dads will excitedly show other dads what they grilled up over the weekend, or what they built with their own two hands. That’s a truly wholesome dad moment right there.

Sing along with me

The feeling of two strangers singing along to the same song can be the best in the world. Truly, that feeling is the greatest, at least for the moment it lasts.

This guy was at a long red light waiting patiently when the guy next to him started singing a song. He began to sing along and they sang together for just 15 seconds. Believe us, those 15 seconds carry a great feeling that can only be experienced and not explained.

His proudest moment as a dad

While parents will never stop being proud of their children’s accomplishments, they can’t help but be equally proud of their pets. It’s almost as if pets take over the role of children in their lives once their kids get old enough to live on their own.

This dad had been on a mission to get his weiner dog recognized as pet of the month for quite some time, and he was more than happy once it was finally awarded that honor. To him, it was his proudest moment as a dad. But wait… what about his children?!

The front doesn’t look as good as the back

Whether you celebrate Christmas or not, you can’t deny that it’s a fun time to decorate a Christmas tree. Getting the whole family together to do something like that is just always a great time no matter what your beliefs are. But there’s one thing that we have noticed about Christmas trees: the front of them always looks way better than the back.

That’s totally fair considering people really don’t ever see the back of the tree, but still, we feel sorry that poor back. It needs some love too. Toss some tinsel back there, why don’t ya?

The real tragedy of 2020

2020 was, uh, a hard year. And that’s putting it about as lightly as we possibly can. We don’t wanna be downers here, but 2020 was absolutely a tragedy no matter how you look at it. Sure, some good things happened this year (remember Tiger King? That was fun, right?), but that doesn’t cancel out the fact that so many bad things also happened.

You might think that we’re talking about the pandemic. If so, you’re wrong. We’re talking about the death of Adobe Flash Player. You will be sorely missed, Flash Player. The good ol’ days are gone.

The impact of a VHS player

Lots of people sell their old stuff online these days, and hardly anyone gives a second thought as to what happens to their sold items after they are purchased. And that’s what makes this letter so magical.

This 86-year-old individual wrote a letter to the person they bought a VHS player from and it was full of details about how much the player meant to them. To think that simply selling something on eBay can have such an impact on someone is truly touching, and we’re really glad that this person wrote this letter.

Husband’s first fan

Seeing a woman fangirling over her husband can be such a sweet thing. This woman got herself a new phone, installed a popular social media app in it and since then, it’s been a fangirling galore.

She cannot help herself from clicking her husband photos and saying some sweet things about him — she sure feels like a teenager again. This show of love and adoration is quite rare these days, but thanks to social media, this man knows his wife is his biggest fan.

My Dream Girl

People often joke that men are all the same, and that they’re only ever after one thing from their woman. But it’s people like this who are showing us that some men really can defy stereotypes.

This one doesn’t want just any old selfies. Oh no, Deltan is expecting a full-on photoshoot from his girlfriend, complete with extra arms popping up all over the place. You don’t need a girlfriend when AI can do that for you, buddy!

Jar of Farts

Small business owners already have it tough. The last thing they need is to compete with people who won’t even follow the laws of business.

After all, if people could sell anything they wanted without having to go through all the legal formalities, there’d be a whole lot of weird items on the market. However, the real question on everyone’s mind of course, is, just who is on the market for this guy’s products?

Tummy Troubles

We’ve all suffered from some stomach issues before, but there are definitely places we’d rather experience these troubles than others. For example, a plane is never the right place to start to feel a queasiness in your stomach.

Usually, we’d rather let it out than hold it in—but in the middle of an airplane, when its sure to smell, we’d recommend taking a trip to the airplane bathroom—for your sake, and everyone else’s.

Be Our Guest

Your home is the one place you can really relax, unwind, and be your most gross self, if you want to be. When you go to someone else’s house, even if it’s a really close friend you’ve known for years, it can be uncomfortable to really relax.

Why is it that whenever we go to a friend’s house, we suddenly forget how to advocate for ourselves or achieve our basic needs? Folks, it’s okay to be hungry or have to use the bathroom when you’re someone’s guest!

Ruff Day

Dogs can get away with almost anything, purely because they’re so gosh darn cute. They’re mischievous as puppies, and some of them just never grow out of it. It’s one of the things that makes them so lovable!

This dog, though, was one of the unlucky few who got caught in the act and faced the consequences. He’s too cute—he must be innocent! Free him!

Toot Toot

This is such a hilariously innocent exchange. We had never thought about the fact that deaf kids might not realize other people can hear their farts.

Kudos to this teacher for explaining everything so clearly. We would say eight years of college are definitely worth it for being able to speak to these kids so candidly and teach them a valuable life lesson.

Chairing is Caring

Even though it’s supposed to be fun, choosing a wedding dress can be stressful and expensive. Fortunately, most brides are lucky enough to have the support of their friends and family to help them choose something that makes them feel special.

This bride is the luckiest of all though, to have a dad willing to wait in line in the middle of the night, just to make sure she finds her perfect wedding dress. We love that he brought a chair—we are definitely going to do that next time we have to wait in line.

Painfully Ironic

Trying to get anything practical done when you have ADHD is like trying to think straight when your head is full of bees. It’s borderline impossible to get anything done, and that’s precicely why it’s so important to reach out for help.

We feel your pain, Katie! It’s not as easy as just saying “do it”, and expecting it to be done. They should have known that a big task like that form is not going to happen.

Welcome to the future

This isn’t the future we asked for, and this definitely isn’t the future that was predicted by old movies and TV shows. According to media from the past, we should all be driving around flying cars and living in a techno-utopia right now. Instead, things are pretty much the same as they were ten years ago. The only big difference is that we run the risk of dying if we step outside of our houses now.

Oh, and we have on-demand streaming of all the shows and music in the world. That’s pretty cool. A fair trade, perhaps?

Protesting the Canadian way

Listen, we don’t think that anyone should subscribe to stereotypes. We live in a beautiful and diverse world, and simplifying people down to a small set of characteristics not only does them a disservice, but it also does you a disservice. But with that being said, some stereotypes aren’t all that mean. Like the one about Canadians being really polite and friendly.

We doubt that any Canadians are all that upset about that stereotype. And if they are, they are welcome to make their feelings known with a protest. We imagine that it would look something like this.

Showing off for his potential adopters

To think of all the dogs that are sitting alone and sad at the adoption centers around the world is something that really makes us sad. If it were up to us, all of those puppers would be adopting right now and taken to beautiful homes full of delicious leftovers and squirrels to chase. But that’s sadly not the case, and dogs have to be really lucky to get adopted.

Well, they either need to be lucky or particularly good at showing off. This guy has mastered his pose, so it’s only a matter of time until he gets picked.

Money is made

Some people find it easy to disrespect others without any cause whatsoever, and have it be okay. The lady at the shop this day kept on yelling at the teen attendant, stating that she didn’t have enough blizzard in her chocolate.

All pleas by the teen fell on deaf ears as she kept on claiming she was an expert. However, this man walked towards the teen and put some money in the tip jar, and the more the woman yelled, the more money he put in the jar. In no time, she stopped yelling.

Young love at its finest

Juno is the kind of movie that just never gets old to us. The charm of the awkward characters is just utterly undeniable. It also features the amazing Elliot Page (hi Elliot! We love you!). But the best part about Juno is that it is absolutely full of quotable lines that really just sum up what it’s like to be an unsure teenager going about navigating their first relationship.

The exchange between these two is just so cute and real. Even though it looked like he wasn’t trying, he definitely was. He was trying really hard.

A gift from the gas station attendant

It’s funny how human beings can form relationships without hardly knowing one another. Maybe you walk past the same person on the way to class every day and you start to feel a bond with them. Maybe you have that one coworker that you never really speak to yet feel a shared sense of camaraderie.

Or maybe you go to the same gas station every day at the same time, prompting the worker to heat up the food so that it’s just right for the moment that you arrive. These are the kinds of relationships that you should cherish.

How’s Your Head

Everyone’s relationships with their parents are different. Some people are much closer with their parents than others, but it looks like this father-daughter duo have a very special relationship.

Maria’s dad has a hilarious sense of humor, and she practically fell into the trap when she asked that question in the first place! This is just some private feedback that nobody really needed to know, especially his own daughter.

Welcome to heaven

Whether you’re religious or not, people often have a lot of opinions on the kind of behaviors that’ll allow you a place in heaven, and those that’ll have you getting turned away at the pearly gates.

It looks like Susan lived a tame enough life to get into the big home in the sky, but her family missed out. If all the best people are stuck down below, where’s the fun of being in heaven in the first place?

My gaming partner

Online gamers share a relationship that cannot be understood by those who are not into online gaming. Gaming may seem intense, but the relationships made from it are wholesome and mutual.

When a gaming partner has to leave and you can’t play with them anymore, the feeling is out of this world — gamers feel so bad. Like, “You won’t be my partner again?!’” This message by this gaming partner sums up the whole feeling — such a great way to say goodbye.

An incredibly thoughtful TSA agent

No matter who you are, it’s pretty rare for a trip to the airport to actually be fun. While getting to where you’re going is always great, the actual airport part is usually annoying. Having to deal with security is a pain.

But some TSA agents actually go out of their way to make people feel comfortable and cared for, such as this one. Although their worry was unwarranted, as the person was actually far older than they thought, the fact that they were so concerned in the first place is actually totally sweet and nice.

Gifts aren’t about the money

As much as we love the holiday season, we kinda dislike how commercialized it has become. It seems like everyone wants to impress their loved ones by buying them shiny and expensive new things, and to us, that’s totally against the holiday spirit. The holidays should be more about spending time with your family rather than buying things at the mall.

But maybe that’s just what we think because we can usually only afford the gift of friendship every year. That’s one gift that never goes out of style though! Right people? …Right…? Okay, fine, we’ll buy a PS5.

Hearing things for the first time

Going through life without one of your senses must be really hard. But we guess that it’s just normal for those people. While they have been told what those senses are like, they can really only imagine. But with technology, some people have been given the gift of using a sense that they weren’t born with.

This deaf individual got a hearing aid and posted online about the things that they were able to hear with it. They were overcome with emotion after being able to hear the noises of a creek in their friend’s backyard. That’s so great!

Flexing after a lot of hard work

If there’s one value that is particularly praised these days, it’s being able to just put your head down and get some work done. It seems like everyone wants to work towards this image of wealth and success that they have in their heads, but is that really worth it? Having a Rolex and a fancy car might sound nice, but you really have to sacrifice a lot to get to that point.

Not everyone is willing to do that. Some people just want to chill at home. After all, you can just make your own Rolex out of paper.

It’s neither right or wrong

Have you ever seen that really old school meme where the student wrote an answer to a true or false question in a way that was totally ambiguous? They figured out a way to write a word that looked as much like the word “false” as it did like the word “true.” This is basically a way more advanced version of that old picture.

They were supposed to match these titles with their authors, and they made it as difficult as possible to tell which was being matched with which. Kudos to this student… and RIP to their professor.
