Animal Services for the City of Arlington, Texas got several calls from worried people about a stray cat running around the city. They knew they had to send a team to find her and bring her to the shelter.
Bitsy, the Pit Bull mix, was later named. She was said to be a happy, playful dog who loved walking around her Texas area and had no plans to stop.
Bitsy luckily ended up at the loving home of a worried citizen after one of her walks, which made it much easier for Officer Allex Pollard to find her.
Meet Bitsy
When Officer Pollard met Bitsy for the first time, she knew she was with one of those dogs that you will always remember.
A spokeswoman for the City of Arlington, Texas Animal Services tells People that when Officer Alex Pollard got to the house, Bitsy was lying on her back with her feet up in the air, looking like she had just had the best day ever but was tired from all the fun.
It was also said by the Texas rescue that most stray dogs they get are very scared and confused. But this wasn’t true for Bitsy.
“Bitsy let everyone know right away that she was there.” Her name is Daisy, and she is a happy, active dog. The animal rescue says, “She loves being with people and makes the funniest dinosaur noises when she wants more attention from you.”
A sweet girl who loves to meet new people and hang out with them. Her “full body wags” show how happy she is. She is always full of good energy.
But Bitsy’s smile is one of the best things about her.
“Bitsy’s smile stood out right away! She is always happy, but she’s happiest when she sees or is with people, says a rescue worker.
Looking For A Home
The Texas shelter started getting her ready for adoption after her required 72-hour stray hold was over and no man came forward to say that she was missing.
The staff called her a VIP Adoptable Pet, though, because they thought she might be hard of hearing or even deaf based on what they saw while taking care of her.
“When an animal is made a VIP at Arlington Animal Services, we lower their adoption fee and put them in more media so they can find their forever homes quickly,” the representative said.
After five days, the shelter chose to put Bitsy in its “adoption mall,” which was at the front of the shelter and only had a few kennels.
From here, Bitsy could meet people who were looking for pets at the rescue and amaze them with her beautiful smile.
A representative said that Bitsy’s sweet smile was visible to everyone as soon as she popped her head up and looked out the window at the adoption mall.
“She was so happy!” It really didn’t surprise us, but she seemed to know this was her chance to start a family! “The shelter spokesperson said, “She loves looking out the window and seeing workers or visitors in the shelter. She is even happier than she was before.”
Unfortunately, Bitsy wasn’t able to get anyone interested in adopting her, even though her smile was contagious and she became somewhat famous on Facebook.
The Animal Services Department of the City of Arlington, Texas, said that this sweet girl would do best with a responsible family that would love having a playful and active animal friend around all the time.
Itchy wants and needs love, time, and care. Someone who is ready to work with the idea that she might be deaf. According to the rescue, she is a smart dog who loves to please people.
Final Word
Over time, I’m sure this sweet girl will find a loving family that will take care of her and make sure she always has a smile on her face.
“We’re sure Bitsy will find a new family, but we also hope that this makes people aware of the homeless dogs waiting in shelter windows everywhere and that someone will think about giving a shelter dog in need a home and heart,” the spokesperson ended.
