Former President Donald Trump made some false statements to reporters on Wednesday after the jury started deliberating in his trial.
Trump claimed that President Joe Biden was behind the case against him, but there is no evidence for this. The case was actually brought by Manhattan’s district attorney, Alvin Bragg.
Trump also said that the judge, Juan Merchan, would not let his team call an expert witness to testify. However, this is not true. The judge allowed the witness, Bradley Smith, to testify, but limited the scope of his testimony. Trump’s team then decided not to call Smith as a witness.
Furthermore, Trump claimed that the US has “fake elections.” However, there is no basis for this claim. Trump lost the 2020 election to Biden in a fair and square contest.
