Wisconsin’s attorney general has filed charges against three people who helped Donald Trump try to win the 2020 presidential election by using fake electors. The three men, Kenneth Chesebro, Jim Troupis, and Michael Roman, are accused of forging documents to make it look like Trump won the election in Wisconsin. Each of them faces one charge of forgery.
This is not the only state where people connected to Trump are facing charges for trying to overturn the election results. Other states like Michigan, Arizona, Nevada, and Georgia are also bringing charges against Trump’s allies.
The governor of Wisconsin, Tony Evers, said “Good” when he heard about the charges. Last year, the fake electors from Wisconsin admitted that they tried to overturn the election results and promised not to do it again.
Here’s what happened: in 2020, a group of people signed fake documents saying Trump won the election in Wisconsin. But they later admitted that this was wrong and that Joe Biden actually won the election. They promised not to try to overturn election results again and to respect the democratic process.
