Reba, a homeless dog, was found wandering in Houston, Texas, and taken to Vet Ranch.
Sick and Seeking Help
She wasn’t feeling good—her skin was really bad, she had a lot of bugs, and her feet were very swollen. There was a sore on her mouth that was really painful, and the glands on her neck were also swollen.
They scraped her skin to see what was wrong and found that she had demodectic mange. They put her on medicine right away and cleaned her up with a special bath.
Positive Response
After only ten days, her hair began to grow back and the cuts on her face got better. Even though her face looked better, she still needed more help. She got her shots and went to live with a foster family.
New Home, New Name
After a week, her face was no longer red and the sores were gone. She got better quickly! She didn’t look like the same dog! And the good news is that her foster family wants to adopt her; they’re just waiting for the paperwork to be finally signed. Because she’s so nice, they changed her name to HoneyBee.
