Have you ever had one of those moments when you’ve said or done something without thinking first? You’re not alone. We’re all human, and it’s normal for us to make mistakes every now and then. Thankfully, most of us move past them. But not everyone.
Some people take to the internet to share their mistake with the rest of the world, or it’s already out here before they even knew whatever embarrassing thing they have done…
Missing the point
Pokemon Go was once everywhere we looked. People were walking more than ever as everyone wanted to get their hands on as many Pokemon characters as they could. Of course, each craze comes and goes, and this game was no exception.
PETA wanted to remind the world how they viewed the app. Apparently, they thought it was a good way to teach people about how to treat animals. The problem? That’s not quite what Pokemon is about. It might be time to rethink that one.
Stop and think
Sometimes, we need to stop and take a moment to think things through. This is especially true when you think you’ve lost something. Where did we last have it? What were we doing when we remember having it last?
If this person has taken a few moments to think things through, they may have realized their keys must be close because they somehow got in the car. It was the panicking that led to this hilarious situation. At least someone was enjoying their worry, right?
Changing with the times
Many things have come a long way over the years. Technology is one that has made huge leaps in the last few years. It seems that someone on Ellen’s team forgot that when they uploaded this clip to social media.
The reason the teen doesn’t know how to use a rotary phone? Probably because they haven’t been used for the last few decades. Have no fear; someone was there to point it out – and throw in a quick diss before they were done.
Delicious numbers
Sure, we know that we should try and eat meals filled with fresh fruits and vegetables, but some of us are on a strict budget, and others want to throw the rules out the window every now and then. There’s nothing quite like a pot of ramen noodles, or is that a bowl of Roman numerals?
The last time we checked, there’s no way to eat numbers. That is unless you get some special pasta in shapes. The internet is a wonderful thing for those times you can’t quite remember the name of something.
Getting in a muddle
Social media seems to attract all kinds of people that might need to think things through. Someone was disappointed to learn they had bought the wrong numbers for their house. They lived at number 45, but they had numbers for house 54.
It didn’t seem to be a problem at the store, so what happened? We guess the numbers got a little muddled up on the way home. Rather than simply swap the numbers around, they wanted them out of their life for good.
A permanent reminder
If there is one thing you always want to do, it’s double and triple-check that your tattoo is spelled correctly before you get it permanently inked onto your skin. We’re not sure who is to blame for this one. Is it the person that signed off on their new tattoo, or is it the tattoo artist?
Perhaps neither of them noticed anything wrong with the design? ‘No pain, no gain’ has quickly earned a new meaning. Maybe they really like writing and wanted a more personal tat? We doubt it.
New to the internet
The internet is great for meeting new people. It can also be a place to learn new things and about how people live their lives. Someone must have thought they were in for a treat when they matched with someone on a dating app.
That was until they struck up a conversation. They wanted to come clean that they were a part of the LGBT community, but it didn’t go down too well. Rather than search it up as they suggested, the person assumed it was a new search engine on the market.
Celebrating in style
We sure hope that he didn’t ask the question like this. If he did, we really hope they washed the ring in tons of disinfectant before they put it on their finger. One couple appeared to be caught up in the moment as they celebrated their new engagement.
They wanted to mark the moment with some personalized snacks. Sadly, they forgot to check the spelling and accidentally ended up with a rude alternative. Thankfully, someone was there to make light of the situation.
A quick fix
Someone was so angered when they saw what their mom had done to their tea and coffee jars, they took to the internet to tell the rest of the world. It turned out their mom had poured the tea and coffee into the wrong containers by mistake.
Rather than swap them around, she decided to grab a permanent marker and make her own. No, she didn’t turn the jars around and write on the other side; she messily scrubbed them out for the world to see.
The wrong Woody
We can’t help but wonder how much of a fan this person is of either of these actors. Woody Allen has worked as a director, actor, and comedian for over six decades. Woody Harrelson? He’s famous for his time in several acting and theater roles.
Although they share a name, they are two very different people. We’re still pondering which way around this person confused the Woodys. Did they think they were talking to Harrelson or Allen when they left this note?
The wrong holiday
Ok, we will give this person a break as they say this is a diary entry they wrote when they were nine years old. Thankfully, they have since learned how to spell those tricky words and that the Fourth of July isn’t the celebration they believed.
The day is supposed to celebrate Independence Day when America agreed it was no longer tied to Britain – not New Year’s Day. We guess all of those fireworks could be enough to confuse many children.
Car-fusion
It can be easy for our minds to wander and start thinking about everything around us. Someone was waiting in their car when they noticed something strange. Why was there a car in the bank, and how did it get there? They needed answers, and they needed them now.
They took to social media in the hopes of getting a response. If only they had thought about things for a moment. The reason that car looked so familiar? It was the reflection of their own on the window.
Locked and waiting
If there is one thing that most of us want to do, it’s get away from a fire. The chances are you don’t want to be chained to the wall until someone with the key turns up to set you free.
Just because we want to stay safe doesn’t mean that it’s always been that way. In the past, there was an idea to create a fire signal box that locked around someone’s arm to try and stop people from making false alarms. See the problem?
Twisted fire starter
There is something about something getting shrunk that pleases many of our minds. It’s something we’re used to using, but now it’s miniature. Someone was delighted when they found a way to make money small enough for Barbie.
However, there was a problem. It turns out that putting metal in the microwave isn’t such a good idea after all. It’s best not to trust everything you read on the internet, especially if it sounds too good to be true.
Feeling mathematic
What is it about people getting words tattooed on them without double-checking that everything is in order? We get it, the English language can be confusing at the best of times. Sadly, there is a big difference between spelling something wrong in a letter and in a tattoo.
Tattoos aren’t so easy to erase. This person thought they were getting “My mum is my angel,” tattooed on their skin. The reality? They have a very math-themed piece of ink instead.
Not adding up
Math isn’t for everyone. Some of us are better and numbers, while others prefer the art of words instead. It doesn’t mean that any of us are bad people, but it can leave us in an embarrassing place if we take our thoughts online.
Someone was confused about this claim on their mustard bottle. They said there was 50% more in this bottle than their 12-ounce offering. If numbers aren’t your thing, it’s because six ounces is half than 12, therefore making an 18-ounce bottle.
Bite me
It’s crazy to think about the way in which humans have evolved over thousands of years to adapt to our surroundings. We certainly can’t imagine Neanderthals arguing about whether we should be vegan or eat meat.
One thing we know for sure is that our entire digestive system is designed to break down and absorb the nutrients in meat, but our stomachs are certainly not designed to break down grass or foliage. Teeth just don’t do that much of the heavy lifting anymore—especially now that we can cut our food with knives and forks.
Moving to Denmark
There’s something about the smell of McDonald’s that has a kind of hypnotic effect—whenever you smell it, even if you weren’t in the mood for it before, you could just go for a burger or some of those tasty fries.
It turns out that it would be much more beneficial for us all to move to Denmark if the dream is to work in McDonald’s. They clearly know how to treat their employees like kings and queens, and after all that, the food is cheaper, too! What more evidence do we need?
Figures…
We all know that there are plenty of obscenely rich folks who find ways around paying their fair share of taxes and the new owner of X (formerly Twitter) is no exception.
However, most people wouldn’t try for the sympathy vote by sharing with the world how much they’re paying when it’s such a negligible percentage of their earnings. We love that this woman called him out and we hope he takes heed and pays up ASAP.
Make up your mind
If you’re trying to catch a cheater in the act, these days the most effective way is to take things online and try and find sneaky texts between people who shouldn’t be texting each other.
There’s a lot going on here. If you’re confused, it’s because everyone is confused. Whether it’s really a husband and wife alternating, or just one truly befuddled person, it looks like we’ll never know.
The Family Legacy
Some people really need to be reminded that we live in the 21st century, and heirs are not the only way to carry on a family’s legacy. This man decided to call into a radio show and voice his fears of having only daughters.
Clearly, he’s not thinking anything through here. If you want to have another child, then by all means, do what you need to do—just don’t use your lack of a son to justify your affair with someone else.
Erasing Debt
With so many bad things happening every day, we’re desperate to find inspiration from unexpected places. One child exceeded expectations when he took it upon himself to raise money for the kids at his school who couldn’t afford lunch.
While this act of kindness is quite inspirational indeed, our society seems to be breezing over the terrible fact that our society refuses to make it possible for children to eat in general, regardless of their socioeconomic status. This feels so bittersweet.
Give My Money Bacc
Sometimes, people do questionable things like stealing money from someone, and think they got away with it until karma comes around to get them back. Or should we say Bacc?
This person literally got caught on camera and had no choice but to fess up to what they’d done. We don’t know why they’re texting With Each Word Uppercase, But That’s The Least Of Their Problems Right Now.
Easy Pizz-y
Whether you eat one piece of pizza or the entire pie, you’re entitled to consume as much as you want. Marty must’ve ordered a large while Luis got a medium. All this talk of pizza is making us hungry.
We’re not sure this teacher really knows what they are teaching. After all, isn’t reading over what you wrote one of the most important parts of any assignment and exam? Clearly, that’s not part of their process, since they contradicted the original question.
An unexpected gift
There is nothing quite like the feeling of a gift card. Suddenly, we have money to play with as we get the fun of picking out something brand new. Someone was lucky enough to have a Nintendo gift card. Unfortunately, they were annoyed by the amount of numbers and letters they had to put in.
There is a good reason those codes are covered until you get home and scratch it off. They were about to learn the hard way that someone else now had their code for themselves.
Blessings on Blessings
Let’s be honest. We’ve all bitten out little circles in a piece of meat to make a face in it. Playing with our food is part of life’s simple pleasures, especially as a child.
Unfortunately, if you don’t look closely enough, you might not even see the piece of ham at all. While these prayers are a bit unfounded, a few extra million blessings never hurt anyone. We have needless prayers to give out, so we might as well give some to the girl who took playing with her food too far.
Asking for a friend
Some people know a scam when they see one. Others? It takes them a while to figure it out. We’re not sure if this person was pulling a prank on their friends or if they wanted to get their hands on some free money.
Whatever the case, all they needed to do was leave some bait and wait for everyone to arrive. It wasn’t long before people fell for the trick and ended up leaving their credit card number for the world to see. How do you delete things from social media again?
A very inconvenient problem
Although technology is there to make our lives better, there are times when things don’t go to plan. It seems that someone was having trouble with their cash register. That or they had no cash left in the store, and they could only accept card payments.
The owner wanted to let everyone know they’d have to pay by card if they wanted something from the store. If only they had remembered the word was “inconvenience” before they wrote this sign…
Close to home
Heading off to college is a significant moment in many of our lives. Some students prefer to stay close to home. Others? They use it as a chance to move across the country if not the world.
One woman thought it was her time to get out there and explore what else America had to offer. Little did she know that San Francisco is still in her home state. In fact, it’s one of the most popular cities in the state.
A little pink
New year, new start, right? Someone was looking to change up their diet, and they thought the best way to go about it was to get a little help from social media. They had an important question: had anyone ever got sick from eating undercooked chicken?
They could have left it at that, but no, they wanted to specifically know if anyone had ever got “salmon vanilla.” Perhaps that was meant to be “salmonella?” That or there is another illness we need to fear.
The point of the book
Stories have all kinds of meanings. One of the best things about stories is they are open to our interpretation, and we can make of them what we like. ‘Frankenstein’ is a tale that has got many of us talking over the years, thanks to its instant classic status.
Many people have fallen for Frankenstein’s Monster as the misunderstood beast as he learns how to become a better person throughout the story. Of course, the media often loves to try and turn things on its head.
Not so popular name
The historical drama ‘Chernobyl’ took over the world of TV as everyone wanted to learn about what happened in the disaster. The story was brought back to life, and it quickly felt as though everyone and anyone was enjoying the series.
Sadly for one person, they were struggling to keep up with everyone’s names. Why was every character called Conrad? Was it just a highly popular name at the time? Thankfully, their friend was there to set them straight.
Tickled pink
There are so many weird and wonderful animals in the world. How can a giraffe be real, but a unicorn is a mythical creature? Elephants are another that has us scratching our heads as their long trunks often seem out of this world.
Don’t even get us started on snakes and spiders. Someone finally got the chance to see flamingos in real life, but they weren’t as pink as they thought. Perhaps that’s why they’re not called flaming gulls?
Don’t mess with the amphibians
Daycare is supposed to be a place where parents can leave their children as they go about the rest of their lives, right? Their kids get to meet friends and learn about new things. It seems like a win-win situation.
Unfortunately, some parents might not be impressed to know that the people in charge of teaching and caring for their children appear to be more concerned with Mario and his friends than checking their spelling. What did we ever do to you, Toad?
Weighing up the dangers
Although many of us love how technology has changed over the years, others are concerned about the effects it could have on our health. One magazine wanted to know if people were worried about radiation coming from their cell phones.
The first lady was a little confused but safe. She had a flip phone, not a cell phone, so she was safe. No problems there? The next woman had people even more confused as she spent all day around x-ray machines, yet thought cell phones were the source of the danger.
A candle for everyone
We’ll give this person a moment to think about what they’ve just said. Part of their rant is true. While most people want to celebrate the arrival of a new addition, they don’t tend to celebrate someone’s 0 birthday.
However, most people do want to celebrate their 10th, 20th, 30th, and so on. Would a store really get something like this so wrong? Perhaps, but it’s the person taking the photo that’s got the wrong end of the stick this time.
The ultimate all tomato
Have you ever had one of those moments when you find out you’ve been saying something wrong your entire life? It could be the pronunciation of a city or a famous phrase. This person was about to have one of those days.
They needed a little help from the internet. They had always heard people giving others an “all tomato,” but they had no idea what it could mean. Thankfully, someone got what they were trying to say and put them on the right path.
Mildly wrong
There are all kinds of things in this world that are mildly interesting. They’re not enough to change your life, but they could be all you need to go “Huh, I never knew that.” So many people think so, there is an entire page dedicated to the thoughts.
There is a good reason that you should never trust the things you find on the railroad tracks. This is why. We hate to break it to them, but this is anything other than a bottle of bleached Coke.
Rise of the zombies
We all have different fears. Some of us can’t imagine anything worse than having to touch a spider, while others shake at the thought of heading into the dark. There are all kinds of things that get our hearts racing and the adrenaline pumping.
Zombies are a new worry that appears to bother many of us. What if they are real and someone accidentally starts an apocalypse? This person was close with their fear, but still oh-so far away with the words.
The mythical land of Europe
2020 has been a strange year that has seen many of us adapt to a new way of life. One American was upset to learn that Europe would still be shut to them, even when they decided to reopen their borders. That was no bother.
Although they were annoyed by the statement, they were content. After all, they could still go on vacation in Italy or Spin. Wait, they’re off the cards? They guess that Greece will have to do. Geography is pretty tough.
Don’t be rude
Some of us will do anything to avoid an awkward situation with a stranger. If they smile at you, we have to smile back, right? The problem is that many of us think about the way we smiled and if we did it well enough for at least the next few minutes.
We think this person will have been thinking about their interaction for the next few years, let alone minutes. If only they had spotted that they were on the phone to someone and weren’t really declaring their love.
Spider cat
There are plenty of ways to keep busy around the home. Many of us have found ourselves passing the time by doing a few DIY projects around the home. Someone thought this would be a great chance to fit a cat door.
All they needed to do was cut a hole in the bottom of the door and finish it off with a frame. The problem? Most cats pretend to walk on the floor and not the ceiling. We guess it could have been worse.
The eternal battle
The great ‘The Office’ debate has raged on for years. The mockumentary sitcom first made waves in the UK before America jumped on the wagon and decided to remake the series for themselves. There has been a battle raging on ever since.
Which is better and why? How will we ever settle this debate? This person had no interest in either of them as they were both “meaty okra.” They were quickly going to learn that’s not how you spell ‘mediocre.’
Missed the memo
We have no idea where to start with this one – or what they could have been thinking when they took to social media. Turning 18 years old usually means we are allowed to do way more things than ever before.
However, we’re not sure that we ever got the memo about being waterproof. Did we miss something, or is this girl the only one in the world that gained the new superpower? For now, we’ll have to stick to using our umbrellas in the rain.
Not a good look
The psychological horror movie ‘Get Out’ took the world by storm back in 2017. It was different from most other things we had ever seen as we found ourselves engulfed by the twists and turns of the storyline.
Have no fear; we won’t spoil it for anyone that still wants to watch the film, but we can tell you one thing: you certainly don’t want to be in a relationship with someone that looks at you like this. If they do, run.
The wrong light
What is it about candles that many of us can’t resist? The flickering of the flame and the relaxing atmosphere is enough to see many of us invest in hundreds of the things. Team that with decorative and scented candles, and it might not be long before you find yourself overrun by the things.
However, you might want to check that you’ve bought a real candle and not a battery-operated one before you end up feeling like this person’s three aunts.
It’s all oil
One of the best things about having a loved one by your side is they are there for you every step of the way. Our weaknesses can often be someone else’s strength. Sadly, it appears that someone had no idea how to change the oil in their car.
That was no worry for their other half who was there in a flash. They grabbed a bottle of oil and rushed to fill it up. What they seem to have forgotten is that cooking oil and engine oil are very different things.
Following instructions
We’re not sure this person could have mentioned they didn’t want to have anything engraved any more times. We’re not sure who is to blame here. If they wrote this message in the engraving notes, then were they asking for this to be the final result?
On the other hand, should the store have thought twice before they got to work engraving this message? This is one of those times where communication really is key. Hopefully, they saw the funny side of this mistake.
Sweet enough already
Many of us use baking as a way to relax and unwind. Forget about the stress of the day and have something delicious to enjoy at the end of the day? That sounds like a winning plan to us. We’re not alone.
Someone came across the recipe and thought they would give it a go. However, there was a problem. Their husband didn’t like sweet things, so they swapped out a quarter-cup of sugar for a third-cup of sugar. A smaller number doesn’t always mean a smaller amount.
The rise of cyber baby
As the technology in our world becomes more advanced and more prevalent, some have begun to worry that the digital realm is taking over the physical. This concern might have some merit to it. We have our phones in our pockets at all times, smartwatches on our wrists, and some people even wear virtual reality headsets on their heads.
But we aren’t yet to the point where babies are born with technology auto-installed. This poorly chosen spot for an ad on a bus might make you think differently, however. Jeez, that cyborg baby looks real creepy. Cybaby, maybe?
A toilet for a small group
In our society, those who are privileged have a responsibility to help out those that are less fortunate. Do you have a ton of money? Maybe donate some of it. Are you able to stand up during a bus ride? Give your seat to a senior citizen.
These small acts end up making a huge difference. We’re more than happy to do these kinds of things normally, but we have to say, this toilet might just be a little too specific in who is allowed to use it. A toilet for the disabled? Makes sense to us. But this?
