In terms of pure affection and unbounded delight, dogs have a remarkable power to enter even the most dubious people’s hearts. Stories of people who were first reluctant to welcome a four-legged buddy into their life only to find themselves totally and irrevocally smitten by their new acquaintance abound. These stories of unanticipated love remind us of the amazing capacity for connection that resides inside each of us and testify to the transforming power of the canine-human link.
At first look, some may find it confusing that someone could turn away the appeal of a lovely, tail-wagging animal. Dogs have been our devoted friends for millennia, providing constant loyalty and company after all. But the road from resistance to great love is one marked with a rainbow of feelings, events, and personal development.
Today, when we view pictures of people totally in love with their dogs who first did not want a dog near by at all, we will be seeing this beauty with our own eyes. How did this occur? The only ones that know are dogs. I know only that I’m happy this happened!

Many times, a number of elements foster uncertainty and doubt and hesitancy. The obligations of pet ownership may cause some people anxiety when they worry about the commitment and expectations of looking after another living entity. Others, shaped by prior experiences or preconceptions, could have had bad encounters or hold misgivings about dogs. Maybe they have never seen personally the transforming power of a dog’s affection and so are not aware of the great influence it may have on their life.
