Something about the topic I’m about to discuss struck me as particularly sad and depressing.
Many dogs are acquired with the expectation that their owners will never leave them, but when this happens, it is painful.
What makes this incident even worse is that the dog’s owners surrendered the puppy to the shelter where they first met him.
Buddy Was So Sad
Buddy was surrendered to an animal shelter in Texas because his owner had serious health issues and could no longer care for him.
This grieved him because he had no idea why this was happening and could do nothing about it.
However, Buddy’s tragic condition did not end here. His own health began to deteriorate, and the shelter workers wanted to do something to aid him.
He struggled to move on his hind legs and needed someone to look after him during his rehabilitation.
So the team had to act quickly and find him a medical foster home in Texas, as he was on the euthanasia list and didn’t have much time.
That’s when the miracle occurred, and someone intervened to take him in. Buddy brightened up when his new owners arrived at his kennel because he saw snacks.
Buddy Is The Sweetest Dog
For a little period, he was relieved to see someone showing concern and compassion for him. Now all that remained was to get him to a safe location.
His new parents drove him to his new house, where he could finally relax a little.
The next day, they took him to the veterinarian, who diagnosed him with yeast dermatitis, tight joints, and aching legs.
Fortunately, they were able to administer the essential medication to help him heal. Now it was time for him to return home.
After a few days, his parents discovered how much happier he was with them and loving his life.
One of his favorite activities is to lie next to his new father and take a long snooze. He also enjoys playing with toys frequently.
Buddy gets quite excited when it’s time for his dinner. His parents found that he enjoys ham for some reason, making eating even more special for him.
He turned from a sad, abandoned dog to a very happy and healthy one in such a short period of time. It’s incredible how well he recovered owing to his parents.
