Spending one’s entire existence by oneself is not an easy task, particularly for strays like dogs. These dogs are always on the search for a family that will adopt them, and they will grasp any opportunity that presents itself to become a part of a human pack and begin a new life in a house that is filled with love.
All along, Buddy, the stray Pittie, was thinking about the same thing! Upon noticing that there was a truck parked on someone’s property that was empty, he did not waste any time in entering!
The only thing he was doing was sitting there, wishing for the best, and sure enough, the best would come true!
Buddy Was Just Meant To Be
The idea that Emily and Garrett, a couple who live in Los Angeles, California, would discover a stray Pitbull waiting for them in their van was something that they could never have imagined in their wildest imaginations. They had just arrived at their destination for yoga class when they came upon Buddy, a stray Pittie with eyes that were filled with optimism.
When we were on our way home from yoga, we opened the gate that led into our property, and to our surprise, we saw this tail just jump into the truck. In an interview with The Dodo, Emily stated that “our initial impression was that this is a dangerous situation.”
At first, they were at a loss for what to do, but once they had regained their composure following the initial shock, the couple made an attempt to get him out of the house by offering him some snacks. Despite this, they were not successful! There was a strong desire in Buddy to remain inside, and he appeared to be quite content!
To get him to come out of his hiding place, it took them around two hours, some treats, and a bowl of water. However, as they came to the realization that he was such a loyal and affectionate dog, Garrett and Emily made the decision to keep him.
The way Garrett describes it, “He just kind of looked at me, and he was like, super chill, just like: ‘Let’s hang out!'”
Jumping Into Emily And Garrett’s Life As A Pro
The following day, Emily and Garrett took Buddy to the veterinarian and made an effort to locate his owners. However, it was discovered that Buddy did not have any owners.
Emily adds, “I was hoping that he would not end up having any owners because due to the fact that I fell in love with him pretty quickly.”
Buddy was adopted by the couple, and in little time at all, he was already behaving as if he had been a member of the family for very long! The crooked-eared Pittie was very at ease in the company of his new pawrents, and he enjoyed spending time with them right from the beginning of his relationships with them.
Unfortuitously, Buddy was only a member of the household for three weeks when he caught a whiff of an animal and went off into the woods, following after it. Emily traveled to each and every shelter in Houston, Texas, where the couple was residing at the time, in an attempt to find her puppy, which she had misplaced.
She was extremely heartbroken after Buddy had been taken away from her, especially considering that she had been mysteriously blessed with him on the day that she discovered him in the truck.
“I was like, ‘No, this is my puppy that I’m supposed to have,’ said the dog. Emily made this statement to the Dodo: “This is not the way that it is supposed to go.”
A few days later, Emily was fortunate enough to receive a phone call from the Montgomery County Animal Shelter in Texas providing information about Buddy. When they saw Buddy wandering around the neighborhood, they brought him inside the facility and waited for Emily to come.
Immediately following that heartfelt reunion, Emily and Garrett made the decision to purchase a GPS tracker for him so that he would never again become disoriented.
He Just Wants To Be A Part Of Everything
Simply put, Buddy is the most adorable canine in the entire world! All he wants is to be a part of everything that Emily and Garrett do, and they do all in their can to make sure that he is a part of everything they do.
“Over here, I play an important role as a member of the WFH. I keep things on schedule (like my naps), I keep everyone motivated by giving them guaranteed breaks (to stop my squirrel barking), and I provide my “thunder-blanket” services to any member of my staff (my parents) should they encounter stress,” Emily wrote under the photo of Buddy lying on his dad’s nap during the work.
Buddy is always making sure to take naps on his pawrents’ laps, and he also assists his pawrents in completing their daily chores (or at the very least, he encourages them to complete them).
In addition to that, he is an avid hiker, and he simply enjoys spending time relaxing on the comfortable bed that his pawrent has provided for him.
