Helen was sleeping on the street when a visitor felt guilty about her. The visitor got in touch with Howl of a Dog, a company that finds homes for stray animals.
After the tourist called, the rescue crew arrived to pick Helen. As she waited, the visitor discovered from others that Helen had been homeless for years and constantly searching for food.
Out of the Streets
Helen, the rescuers identified, was taken to the veterinarian. Her condition from ticks, Anaplasmosis, made her thin and sick; but, treatment could help. Helen improved gently.
Living in A New Home
She had always been a stray and was around six years old. Once she healed, though, a Dutch family wanted to adopt her. Helen now has a loving home.
