Some photos hit you right away with how weird they are while others take a second to sink in. There are times this weirdness is implemented on purpose and other times that even the photographer is wondering what went awry. These photos left us with a growing sense that something — if not everything — is a little off.
Hold On
It’s not necessarily odd to see a house window when you’re driving by. Of course, those windows are usually a part of a house — not just on their own.
If they were on their own, you’d at least expect these windows to be on the ground. Honestly, this one might lead drivers to slam on the brakes out of confusion. It really makes us wonder what’s going on but mostly, we’re impressed by the balance.
Some Added Difficulty
Speaking of sheep, when you think of them, you probably picture them on a farm. If they’re active, maybe you think of them running through a pasture.
You probably don’t picture them tagging along for a sport as intensive as skiing. For one, the person skiing in this picture seems pretty strong and talented to forego poles and hold a sheep instead. Secondly, it’s almost weirder that this sheep seems so content to tag along for the ride.
Bus Chicken
There are a lot of strange things you might see on the bus when you hop on. For the most part, you probably just keep walking. That said, we’re not quite as sure we could just walk past this seat of loose fried chicken wings.
The longer we look, the more questions we have too. Why isn’t it even in a box or takeout container? Where did it come from? Mostly, why is this loose chicken completely unattended — who did this?
One of These Is Different
Stuffed animals are a great way to add a bit of personality to a room. Not to mention, they’re soft and comfortable as well!
At first, you might just think this is four stuffed animals lined up in a row. One of them is a bit different from the others, though. Maybe it’s the tail that gives it away but we’d watch out for claws before scooping up this pile of stuffed animals.
Do You Think He Likes It?
Head massagers can help a lot of people relax. At the end of the day, it’s designed to offer a head massage. We aren’t the only ones who enjoy a good head scratch, though.
Man’s best friend is known to like a scratch or two, so we can see why this pet owner tried it out. While the dog may not be able to give us a verbal review, he looks pretty relaxed in this picture.
Just a Normal Playground
When you head to a playground, you usually have a lot of options as to what you want to do! Most kids share the equipment and play with others as well.
It’s not just children and their parents who love these public playgrounds, however. Apparently, the local cats find it rather fun as well. They even wanted to take this toy out for a ride before the photographer seemingly interrupted their fun.
Like a Zen Garden
Being around your cat can be a really calming experience. Depending on your cat, you might have the chance to get a few cuddles in while you spend quality time together.
If you have a particularly calm or tired cat, you can even turn them into a zen garden like this cat. Not only is it calming but it’s pretty adorable, too! You can even see where their owner used the rake to comb their fur.
Hope You’re Fast
When you want something fast-paced and fun, you can see how quick you are against your friends in a round of foosball.
The game doesn’t usually require any running — just fast hands and an equally quick reaction time to keep the ball out of your goal. If you stretched out the table as far as it is in this photo, on the other hand, you’d probably have to make sure you could move quickly among the length of the table.
Just Out for a Walk
A lot of people are used to seeing people walk their dogs around the city. After all, they need exercise and people usually can’t just let them out in their yard.
Once in a while, you might be surprised to see what kinds of animals are leash-trained. In fact, most people are blown away when common pets like cats can do the same thing. We certainly never expected to see someone walking their crab down the street.
The Show of a Lifetime
Live music is exciting and crowds can get fairly into the performance. With the right music and performance, a musician can really impress a crowd.
This keyboard player might have one of the cutest crowds a musician can hope for. Between the music and the food, too, they seem rather content with how their days are going! One of these guys even seems like he wants to join the band.
Falling Down Like Dominos
Dominos can be a fun game but it isn’t always what people use Dominos for. Sometimes, it’s fun just to line them up and knock them back down.
Of course, that goes for Domino tiles — not Domino’s delivery vehicles. This seems a lot less fun and more time-consuming, especially if any of these carts were damaged during this mishap. It seems like some people’s pizza deliveries might be delayed for a few more minutes.
Wait a Second…
These two dogs look like they’re enjoying the ride in the back of this truck. The picture doesn’t stand out too much at first, right? Well, other than the fact that these two doggos are absolutely adorable.
Wait a second… are you seeing what we’re seeing? Is that a third pup on the bulldog’s back?! Well, that’s probably the cutest thing we’ll see all week.
Pixel Cats
Perspective can change a lot. For example, from certain perspectives, something might look smaller or bigger than it actually is. In this case, this cat proved that patterned glass can lead to some pretty funny distortions.
This guy looks like he’s ready to play in a round of Minecraft — or perhaps he’s a character in an older ’90s game considering his cubed, pixelated appearance. This is one of the funniest and most adorable optical illusions we’ve seen.
The Glass is Still Winning
There are some treats we simply can’t share with our pets. Still, they may not understand why they can’t take part in your chocolate dessert.
Not to mention, it definitely won’t stop some pets from trying. This animal thought they had the perfect approach to steal a bite before they were stopped. The only problem is that the muffin wasn’t just floating in midair. Tricked once again by that pesky glass!
Flawless Timing
This picture isn’t weird for what’s occurring here. It looks like these dancers put a lot of work into what they’re doing and have drawn quite an audience.
The weird thing is that this photographer managed to snap this picture during a moment in which the dancers were incredibly in sync. With all of them jumping at the same time, it almost looks like they’re floating rather than in the middle of a high-energy activity.
Just a Bit of Rust
When metal is outside, it rusts over time. It’s just a part of the aging process for this material, although it can become quite a hassle in some situations.
This rust is a little weirder than most, though. After all, not many rust patterns give us a near-perfect replica of the map of the world. It’s so good that you almost have to wonder if someone helped chip it into this pattern before this photographer stumbled across it.
Strike a Pose!
It’s not uncommon to come across an ad or Instagram post with a model striking a pose. If you scrolled past this one quickly enough, you may have missed how different this photo is.
While the pose itself is close to normal, most people don’t do it upside down. The fact that this person is actually seems pretty impressive considering how hard it is to do a handstand alone, let alone strike a pose like this.
Did He Break It?
There’s a lot going on in this picture. For one, you don’t usually see a moose hanging out in someone’s house. They’re usually wild and some are a little big for the average home.
This moose wasn’t afraid to make himself at home, though. However, it seems like they decided to redecorate the room a bit. It seems like their next step is a game of table tennis but we’re not so sure it’s still in playing shape. At least the paddles are still there.
Well, Oops
Laying concrete takes some careful work. When you’re doing it, you want to make sure no one steps in it and especially that no one leaves something behind.
This seems like a particularly unfortunate loss. It’d be one thing if a few leaves or some debris got into the concrete but someone managed to lose an entire electric drill here. It seems like they may need to run to the hardware store before their next project.
They Just Love Pugs
It’s not uncommon for people to have close bonds with their pets. We do call our dogs “man’s best friend” for a reason.
This picture shows a lot of love but the pug seems a little startled by their owner’s dedication. The shirt matching the pug isn’t too startling but the mask is a bit haunted rather than endearing. It seems a bit hard to see out of as well.
Watching You
When you use public transportation, sharing the ride with other people is part of the process. For the most part, people try to mind their business.
It would be startling to look up and see this woman craned to stare at you. Luckily, that isn’t actually the case. However, the picture on this magazine page held in that position could startle anyone.
Why Bother?
A bike lane is useful in areas of heavy traffic. It can help the flow of traffic and make things a little safer whilst navigating among the different vehicles.
On the other hand, that really only works when the bike lane lasts long enough for anyone to reap the benefits. We really have to wonder what the point of such a small bike lane is. It’s barely big enough to fit a bike in, to begin with!
What an Idea!
If you want to take your dog on an outing with you, typically you can just clip a leash to a harness and get going! With cats, it’s not always as easy.
If you put a cat on a leash, they may not be as receptive and they’re terrifyingly good at getting out of them. It seems like rather than leash-training their cat, this couple went for a cute and comfy option by making him his own seat to enjoy the ride.
Animal Companions
It’s always a lot of fun to game with friends. You have a lot of options as to who to game with and what to play to fulfill this.
This person decided to go with an animal companion for their gaming session. Not many of us get the chance to game with a bird like this, though. It looks like this feathered friend is pretty interested in what’s going on as well.
Expensive Uno
Uno is a classic game at this point. Its straightforward rules and the fact that you only need a deck of Uno cards makes it pretty enticing in a party setting.
On the other hand, it seems like this party is making the game about as expensive or as limited as possible. Using phones instead of cards makes the game a lot less accessible and we assume they can’t possibly have enough phones for the whole deck.
Just a Little Hungry
When you’re hungry, there are few places better to head than the kitchen. That’s where all the food is and everything you might need to prepare it.
Of course, not every home kitchen is built with accessibility for an elephant in mind, so we can see why this animal looks a bit confused. We do have to wonder if the hole in the wall was already there or if this elephant was just really determined to get into the kitchen.
A Strong Approach
Bowling isn’t always easy but that’s what things like bumpers are for. Once you get the hang of it, it can be pretty impressive to show off your skills.
Every bowler might have their own slightly unique technique as well. This weird technique goes beyond slightly, though. Rather, this seems like a move that might get you kicked out of the bowling alley. Still, we’re impressed with how far they threw such a heavy ball.
This Seems Less Comfortable
There are a lot of options when you get in the car but want to be comfortable. Most people grab items like headphones or a pillow.
A pillow must be a more comfortable choice than whatever is going on here. First of all, we have to wonder how this person managed to get into this seat in the first place. The second question, naturally, leads us to wonder why they bothered to do this.
Worn With…Time
Statues often tell a story. Off the bat, this obviously includes the meaning behind the creation of an artist and the story they assign to it.
Statues often bear the signs of how the public has interacted with them too. As for this statue, it’s easy to see what happened here. It seems like the crowds that passed by here made sure to give this metal masterpiece a pat — just not quite on the back.
A Bit Unnerving
Going out on a safari is a great way to see animals you usually can’t be close to. As such, it could be a little nerve-wracking. This safari situation doesn’t look like it’s for the faint of heart.
The lionesses are within arm’s reach of all of these people on the ride. We can’t blame them for crowding towards the center — we wouldn’t want to reach our fingers through that cage!
Art or Lunch?
Noodles are a great and versatile ingredient to have for lunch. You can prepare them in so many different ways that the possibilities are endless.
This person really thought outside of the box when it came to the preparation — we’re just not quite so sure why. For one, it seems like by the time you actually got to eat these noodles, they’d be pretty cold. They don’t seem like the easiest medium to knit with either.
Riding in Style
Many people spend a lot of time in their cars. You probably use it to commute almost everywhere so why not make it reflective of your personality?
There are a variety of ways that you can customize your car too. Seat covers, steering wheel covers, and hanging charms are all common options to add a bit of yourself to the environment. Of course, nothing’s stopping you from giving your car a little hoodie either.
A Weird Moment
Just because a picture is weird doesn’t mean that it’s bad or unwelcome. This picture is strange but, in the end, it’s ultimately pretty wholesome. If you don’t understand a reflection, we can see why this dog was so confused.
With so many mirrors here, it probably seemed like this one little guy ran into three other identical dogs, all copying them or maybe they’re just enjoying looking at themselves. If nothing else, this is definitely a weird moment for the dog.

Sometimes, when you’re at work dealing with customer orders and complaints, it can feel like you’re really in the hot seat for quite a while.
It seems like this company found this metaphor a bit entertaining when they designed this workstation. We have to respect the commitment to the aesthetic by making the front desk a large pot. The light underneath is even designed to look like a burner!
Is That E.T.?!
A barbecue can be a great time to enjoy some warm weather and spend time with family and friends. Plus, it usually leads to a delicious meal.
Barbecues may vary in what they serve. You might go to one and enjoy a rack of ribs while another one may serve hamburgers. You probably don’t expect to see the chef grilling up an alien you might remember from a beloved childhood film.
A Strange Haul
Birds like seagulls and magpies are known for snatching almost anything they can get their beaks on. You’ve probably guarded your fries while making your way down the boardwalk.
As far as things a bird could steal from you, however, this seems like the most personal. We can only hope this is an old pair that someone doesn’t need anymore, otherwise this bird has snatched a set of dentures
A Weirder, Wicker Toilet
There are some things you may not want to make out of certain materials. For instance, you may not want to use a wicker basket to hold anything liquid. If you do, you’re going to have quite a mess on your hands.
Because of this, we aren’t quite sure why this person thought a wicker toilet was the answer to, well, just about anything. It could make for a strange décor piece rather than a functional toilet.
A Little Surprise
There are some things you simply don’t expect to see. This is one of the weirder sights you could come across in a bathroom.
It seems like someone had a lot of time on their hands and some skills they were ready to put to use. This swan is crafted so delicately that it seems a shame to just tear it off. It seems even worse to use this swan for, well, the purpose of toilet paper.

When it’s raining really hard, it’s not easy to get caught without an umbrella. At first glance, it looks like this group decided to huddle under an awning.
Upon closer inspection, that’s not actually the case. It seems like these poor souls caught without an umbrella weren’t afraid to get creative. However, one of these tents would be pretty hard to carry and keep open by yourself. We guess the key here really is teamwork.
Strapped in Safe!
Safety is crucial when you’re in the car, no matter how short of a ride you’re taking. One of the big basics here is to wear a seatbelt while you’re in the car.
While the effort here is valid, we’re not quite so sure this little guy is strapped in as safe as possible. Still, it’s pretty weird that this gerbil seems so okay with it. We can’t help but notice that it seems like someone lost their seat to this furball.

We all know that cats are basically liquid. There’s no space too small, too out of reach, or too improbable for a feline. Due to the fact that their shoulders are attached to muscle, and not other bones, cats can twist themselves into all sorts of weird shapes.

This guy’s backpack requires a second look. At first glance, we thought it’s just a really light backpack and he’s not carrying a lot of things. Now, we realize that it’s actually a part of his shirt and this dude has some seriously questionable fashion choices.
We’re trying to understand what the point of this trend is. Is the point to look like you have a lot of responsibilities and a lot of things to carry around, even when you don’t?
The Morning After
It seems like this statue had just a bit too much to drink the night before. In reality, the winter’s ice froze on the statue in just the right place to scare passersby.
We’d be cautious about walking underneath that thing, just in the off chance that it actually is statue vomit. Even if it isn’t, that ice is going to break off any second and we don’t want to be on the receiving end of it!
A Man of Many Talents
Clearly, this is a man of many talents. Not only can he play music but he can also create a piano out of nothing but sand! We wonder if this music sounds like an actual piano or if it’s more of ocean sounds.
The artist who made this piano, Jamie Harkins, explained, “I kind of like the fact that it disappears at the end of the day when the tide comes in. It makes it impermanent.”
No, It’s Not Just You
No, it’s not just you who’s seeing the carpet this way — that thing looks like it was made in the Twilight Zone! Apparently, this is a hotel carpet and it was made this way for a very specific reason.
The establishment wanted to prevent people from running in the halls and it seems that they got their wish! However, this carpet also prevents people from enjoying their stay without getting sick. We might avoid staying at this place altogether. We’re getting dizzy from just the picture!
It’s Not a Painting
Believe it or not — this isn’t a painting of fishermen at sea. This is a genuine photograph of fishermen in a lake in China. Unfortunately, the lake is so filled with pollution and algae that it now looks like a painting.
As beautiful as this picture is, it also serves as a call to action to clean up the water in China — specifically in Chaohu Lake in Hefei, where this photo was taken.
Black and White Santa
No, this isn’t a black and white photo superimposed onto a colored picture. This is a photo of a woman dressed up as a black and white Santa! This is the perfect solution for anyone who needs to wear a Santa costume but doesn’t look good in red.
Don’t believe us that this isn’t photoshopped? If you look very closely at the woman’s neck, you’ll see that a bit of the gray makeup has rubbed off.
The Melting Building
This building appears to be melting in the hot sun. In reality, the building is under construction so it’s been covered by a tarp. We can imagine that the people in that city appreciate seeing the cool tarp rather than a half-finished building.
Is it just us, or does this look like something straight out of the movie Inception? The whole thing looks even more trippy with the curved balconies on the building next to the tarp.
When You Give Your Kids Crayons
This hotel room in France has been designed so that each half is completely different from the other. The hotel has five rooms, styled by different artists every single year.
A representative for the Au Vieux Panier hotel explained, “The idea is to offer to artists a three-dimensional canvas and, on the other side, give the opportunity to visitors to see art in a different way, entering an artist’s universe. We don’t impose any theme, the artists have ‘carte blanche’ to express their creativity.”
What Are You Looking At?
Whoever was watching this show paused it at exactly the right time! Either that, or it was already paused and this cat took a peek at just the right angle. Either way, it’s pretty clear that there are about to be some shots fired.
Neither the woman nor the cat looks too pleased to see each other stealing their spotlight. We think whoever’s watching that show should come back and hit ‘play’ ASAP!
Busted!
We’re not really sure what Marge is up to but she clearly just got busted! Homer looks pretty surprised to see his wife out and about, which makes us think that she may have told him she was staying home that day.
Although, given Homer and his shenanigans, it’s entirely possible that he just misunderstood Marge — or wasn’t even listening to her at all. Either way, there’s most definitely going to be a discussion in the Simposons’ household tonight…
Fire-Breathing Doggo
Clearly, this dog is a mixed breed. By mixed breed, we mean that one of his parents is a dog and the other must be a dragon. We have to admit that the resulting species is pretty cool!
We all know that dogs are man’s best friends but now we have yet another reason to love these pets. Need to light up the grill to cook some steaks? No problem — your friendly fire-breathing doggo has got your back!
It’s Still Loading
It looks to us like this building is still loading. At first glance, it appears that the building is still in construction and just hasn’t been finished. As it turns out, though, it’s completely built and this is the intended design.
This building is located in Texas and doesn’t look as strange in person. It’s actually just the angle that makes this look like some poorly done CGI. That being said, we can’t argue with the fact that it looks really cool!
There’s a Glitch in the Matrix
It seems that this car has accidentally driven into a portal leading to a parallel universe. Clearly, there’s been a glitch in the Matrix and whoever was responsible for writing the code for the road stopped halfway through.
To be fair, though, this glitch in the Matrix actually makes a lot of sense — seeing as how this photo was taken in Florida. It would certainly explain a lot of things about the news stories in that state…
Awful Traffic
Commuting isn’t always easy. After all, even the plans you plan the most carefully can get thwarted by heavy traffic on the road ahead.
Of course, usually the traffic you have to worry about is other cars. In this case, it seems like everyone was caught up in a huge herd of sheep making their way down the road. We have to say, it seems a lot easier for the person to weave through the sheep than the car.
Is That Another Car?
Hauling large items is a real pain. If you can’t fit the items in your car, you may have to use a larger vehicle like a van or a truck.
We have to admit one thing — we can see why this cargo wouldn’t fit in a car. At the end of the day, it is another car. However, it seems almost weirder to choose a van. At this point, it might just be time to call a tow truck considering that this set-up doesn’t look too secure.
What Did You Do?!
A kitty sleeping on a car windshield is a fairly common sight, even if it does make you want to bring them inside for a softer place to continue their cat nap.
This one is a little weirder than normal. While we’re sure the window was already broken, it looks like this cat rocketed out of the sky to find a place to curl up on. We still have to wonder why this four-legged furball chose to sleep on a broken windshield when there are tons of other intact cars.
A Lot Going On
This is one of those pictures that’s so strange, it must be intentionally weird. It looks like the chaos in the background has been going on for a while.
This driver’s unfortunate day isn’t the only thing that stands out about this photo, though. This prom-ready individual opted for a rather strange accessory to complete their outfit with. A sewing machine seems rather inconvenient to carry around…
A Tragic Backstory
You might pass signs like this one every day and not think anything of it. However, it’s the message of this sign that makes it strange. These two messages should have probably been issued separately.
We’re not so sure the ‘rest in peace’ sentiment seems as genuine when it’s immediately followed by a “now hiring” sign. Plus, it doesn’t quite make the job sound like the position of a lifetime either.
