All five small puppies wanted to do was wrap up next to their mother, sleep peacefully in her arms, and experience her unconditional love.
Unfortunately, heartless humans separated them from her warm hug and endangered their precious lives.
The babies were battling for their life after being thrown in a cardboard box and abandoned in a dumpster.
They cried out for help, hoping that someone would hear them and respond before it was too late.
A Woman Hears Squealing Sounds
A giant-hearted woman was putting her trash to a dumpster outside her apartment complex in Troy, Alabama, when she heard strange yelping sounds from the metal bin.
She summoned an apartment manager, who assisted her in searching the dumpster. They were both shocked to discover that the noise was emanating from a taped-up cardboard box.
The couple gingerly unwrapped the box, revealing five squealing puppies. They were just three weeks old.
Still in disbelief, the woman contacted Troy Animal Rescue Project and requested for assistance.
The rescuers reacted quickly to the call for help and took the puppies into their care.
When the rescue team spotted the screaming babies huddled together in the box, they were heartbroken.
The dumpster’s heat was causing the tiny newborns to burn up.
The rescue team quickly carried the babies inside and calmed them. The puppies have stopped crying. They recognized that they were in good hands.
The small babies were dehydrated. Their caregivers quickly made formula and bottle-fed them. The babies ate as quickly as they could.
Puppies Start Recovering
Melissa Boatner, vice president of Troy Animal Rescue, brought all five babies to her home. She was determined to nurture them back to health.
Boatner, one of the rescue group’s principal bottle feeders, provided 24-hour care for the puppies.
The newborns had resilience, and they recovered fast.
Their beautiful foster mother showered them with love, hoping to erase the tragedy they had endured.
The puppies soaked up all of her love. They began to thrive and play with one another as they felt protected and comfortable.
“They were a little lethargic due to dehydration and hunger, but they brightened up shortly. “As you can see, they are little chunky monkeys right now,” Boatner explained in an interview.
Despite their tough start in life, the puppies are expected to recover totally.
“All five puppies are recuperating quite well…”Our vet believes they will fully recover and grow into beautiful, healthy dogs,” Troy Animal Rescue Project wrote in a Facebook post.
The five gorgeous puppies will remain in their foster home until they are ready to start looking for their forever homes.
